European Poetry Slam

VENUE : Heimathafen Theater in Berlin (
The Heimathafen is a theater located in Neukölln, one of the most active districts in Berlin. This cultural center offers a rich and diversified program in which poetry slam has its place. Organizing regular poetry slam competitions, shows and events, the Heimathafen is known as a poetry venue. That´s why it has been chosen to receive the 1st European Poetry Slam Event.

PARTICIPANTS : 200 people involved in the European slam scene, including artists, professionals, young talent and people in charge of slam associations, festival programs and events.

NATIONALITIES : Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lettland, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and the UK.

–  To create a European network for artists and professionals poetry slammers, in order to facilitate contact between the different poetry slammers in Europe.
–  To initiate and stimulate a intercultural dialogue between the poetry slam
artists in Europe.
–  To help the european slammers share their talents and their experiences, and facilitate the creation and diffusion of transnational events/shows.
–  To make the slammers aware of the diversity of languages, cultures and slam themes of their European neighbours.
